Foundation year, bye bye~~

So, hello my blog. It's been a while isn't it? Ok, actually dah lama x buka blog ni tulis because at China, you can't access blogger, youtube, facebook, etc. Kalau nak access needs freegate which is sangat lambat (ikut mood dia sometimes). So, I ended up x tulis blog selama satu semester kat China. Now I'm home! In malaysia! So, I'm gonna write something here.. 

Beijing Foreign Studies University / BFSU / 北京外国语大学 / BeiWai ~~ OK. Now, I wanna write about my life studying foundation kat university ni. Guess what, I'm so in love with this uni already. I love the people, the teachers, the study environment, the food (of course), everything!! Mungkin sebab dan setahun, so everything dah rasa sangat familiar and I'm happy with everything. And last 24th June 2014, I ended my foundation year. Actually patut everything ended on 26th June, but I booked my flight on the 24th morning, so my foundation year ended that day, right after the final exam on the 23rd June. 

So, sekarang I wanna start with the first sem of foundation year, hurm, what can I say, that time everything rasa sangat clueless. Sebab satu, bahasa cina ni banyak sangat dia punya tones, sampai I feel like "kenapa orang diorang nak buat banyak sangat tone dalam percakapan harian ni?". actually xda la banyak sangat, 4 tones ja. Tapi, mula2 memang rasa pelik, cause I can't differentiate some of them. Tapi lama2 dah ok. Esp bila dah start learn tulisan cina itself, so that time dah macam pandai la sikit (or mungkin banyak). 

Semester 1 basically proses dia, mula2 masuk kelas perkenal diri, and laoshi cakap English, cause kalau dia cakap cina, err, I don't know what will happen in the class. Then, everyone get their own chinese name. Chinese name basically laoshi yang pilih, so bila terima tu, sedap tak sedap semua macam redha ja terima. But, actually boleh ja nak tukar, semua boleh bincang with laoshi. And then mula la proses pembelajaran. Mula-mula starts with pinyin, tones everything, then baru pelan-pelan learn the chinese character. Ni semua happen during the first week here. Orientation week apa bagai xda sangat pun. 

Sekolah banyak bawak pelajar-pelajar Malaysia keluar or travel. Ada a few tempat senior-senior bawak, but a few tu memang sekolah bawak. And everything dah dibayar oleh KPM / MARA etc. So, u just go and have fun. A few tempat yang sekolah bawak masa semester 1 are The Red Theatre (tengok Kung Fu Show), The Great Wall, Lao She Tea House, and lastly Sichuan. Sichuan tu salah satu negeri kat belah barat China(kalau x silap). Went there by flight. Stay for 5 days. Jalan-jalan with tourist guide. Awesome!! Makanan pun sedap! Lao She Tea House tu kedai minum teh sambil tengok performance. Teh diorang x letak gula, aduhhhh x best! Tapi lama-lama minum macam ok la..

And at the end of every semester akan ada anugerah Best Student Award. Setiap kelas dihantar 3 orang pelajar terbaik. And apart of that award, satu lagi award ialah award peningkatan for student yang throughout the semester sangat tinggi peningkatan, setiap kelas sorang laki and sorang perempuan dapat. And for semester 1, I became one of the Best Student from my class. Alhamdulilah. The other 2 are Ain (安颖） and Yana (雅楠）. Untuk peningkatan dapat dekat Safiq（ 逸飞) and Alia( 琳琳）.And then, balik Malaysia!!! Cuti winter around 3 weeks.

Sem 2 bermula somewhere around March. Sem dua start jadi hectic. Terasa la macam student university kan. Sem 2 dah start ada kelas pilihan (pilih dua kelas tambahan between kelas "lukisan", "taichi" or "kaligrafi") and ada kelas tambahan wajib that is kelas Sejarah China. Best jugak belajar sejarah China ni. Dinasti-dinasti bagai. menarik sangat! And Sejarah ni ada exam, which makes it quite important untuk fokus dalam kelas. Kelas-kelas biasa pun dah makin susah pembelajaran. Banyak grammar yang berbelit-belit and makin banyak words and chinese character yang susah kena belajar. Xda dah relax-relax sangat macam masa sem 1. Tapi, x relax pon sebenarnya relax la jugak belajar bahasa cina. Yang penting selalu practice cakap and tulis. At the end benda tu ingat sendiri. 

 

Sem 2 pun sekolah bawak berjalan macam selalu. Went to Beijing Botanical Garden, The Summer Palace, The Forbidden City and Shandong. Shandong ialah salah satu negeri di belah utara China (kalau x silap). Went there by train and stayed there for 3 days. Sem 2 ni pun dapat awards. Dari setiap kelas akan ada 4 students dapat Best Students Award. This time Alhamdulillah I got it again. 3 orang lagi ialah Yaa (闫妍), Ain (安颖) and Hazimin(志明). Another award ialah award student yang paling banyak membantu the whole year. And our class president Fatimah (汀兰) got it. 

Last but not least ....

Bye bye Foundation year!! I'm gonna miss you. Wish me gudluck doing my degree. Starting this September..

A month in Beijing

你好！我叫陈艺芳！是北外的留学生。。

Time just flies without I even realize it. K, now I'm officially a foreign student here in Beijing. Under a university named Beijing Foreign Studies University (北京外国语大学）. Sometimes I wonder, am I dreaming? Or is this some kind of fantasy that I create in my mind. Being a KMKN student, and suddenly I'm here studying chinese mandarin that I never think of before. haha.. K, enough with that. I would like to write about my life here. What has happened in the first month of having the identity as 留学生（foreign student) here.. 

First of all, this is my roommate!OK, we had too much coincidence incidents. We are 同屋（roommates), 同学 (classmates), usrah-mates, groupmates.. Hurm, what else. huhuhu.. And with the fact that both of us were classmates since form 1 - form 5 in SMKI before, it feels like we're destined to be with each other.. hahaha.. Everyone else were like "you guys together again??".. Hurmm, no comment~~~~ We were placed in room 6326 when we arrived here.. Room 326, 3rd Floor, Foreign Student Building 6, West Court.. 

These are my classmates.. 马来三班 的学生(Malay Class 3). 15 students in total. 3 guys, 12 girls.. Plus with our class teacher, 李丹薇 老师 (teacher Li Dan Wei).. From all parts of Malaysia and here, we become classmates.. Well, there's 3 Sg. Petani "kids" in this class including me.. SP hooray! hihihi. Plus, there's 2 ex-KMKN too in this class (including me). Coincidence much! Another ex-KMKN is in another class.. Ah and one more ex-KMKN is in another university.. Too many ex-KMKN here huh.. The "betrayers".. hoho. And btw, we were all given chinese names. And my chinese name is Chen Yi Fang (陈艺芳）

Favourite cucuk-cucuk! Behind our university, there's this stall selling halal cucuk-cucuk. It's like sate, but it's not sate.. Crab, chicken, mushroom etc.. huhu

A trip to Niujie Mosque during Aidiladha. Met a lot of Muslims there, Chinese Muslim, Pakistanis etc.. It was a great experience!

Uwaaa :'(

Title tu dah tells everything kot. I'm crying!! Inside and out. Rasa scared and insecure.. As I'm writing this, it's the last night I'm here in SP before going to China. It's already 0015 on Monday now, so in a few more hours, I'm leaving SP after breakfast. Actually flight this Thursday, at 0025. But because I got some important things to do, so I'm going to KL earlier. Actually xla awal sgt, pegi Isnin, Selasa, then Rabu ni 1700 dah kena ada kat KLIA. Not much time left to enjoy my life in Malaysia as a free 18-years-old-girl. Lepas ni dah jadi student uni. Kat negara orang pulak tu.

Honestly berat hati sgt rasa. Dah la fly b4 raya haji. Sedih tau! Sedih jugak nk tinggalkan si kecik manja Zara tu. Confirmly I'm gonna super miss her. Selalu sgt manja ngn Acu dia ni, mana la Acu xkeberatan nk tinggalkan dia. Si adik Rifqy pon mesti rindu nak dengar dia merengek ngn mengeliat. Baru sebulan lebih dah mngeliat macam org besaq.. Ish3. Yang si 3Zs plk msti rindu dgn celoteh diorg bila blk SP. N then, mesti rindu masakan Mama yang forever terbaik di dunia. hihihi. Walaupun mama terror masak tp bakat tu x pulak turun kat ank bongsu dia ni. Musykil2. Maybe sbb ank bongsu ni pemalas nk masuk dapur kot. hehehe. Tp nak wat cemana, dah terbiasa. Since kecik, bila masuk dapur ja, my 3 elder sisters masing2 tolong mama buat macam2. And I was like watching around and did nothing. At the end sampai kesudah xreti2 masak. Tah macam mana nk hidup kat Beijing x tau la. Tp insyaAllah, klu dah terpaksa tu, akn masak jugak. Kebulur kang klu still pemalas.

How My Life's Doing Now

Wow. It's been a month since the last post. I miss writing here but I have nothing to write and I'm actually pretty busy downloading stuffs these few days. huhuhu. Not weird stuffs k, just "bunch" of movies (mostly cartoons) and dramas/shows. It was just for fun at first but now it's becoming a habit. I need to download something as soon as I switch on the laptop. And currently as I'm writing this, I'm downloading a movie. 

K in a month, of course lots of things happened. I went to BTN for 5 days (26/8 - 30/8) at Kem Bina Negara Meru, Klang. I tell u, I like to call it "Sleepy 5 Days". Honestly I'm a sleepy-head girl, so don't expect me to clearly listen to all the ceramah 24hours without the sleepiness comes and disturb me. b4 that, we students under KPM going to Beijing got KPM "interview" session, cewahh. k merepek, actually just got some briefing from KPM regarding our flight, scholarships etc. It was held at KWSP somewhere in Bangi (25/8 - 26/8). We all went to BTN by bus around 1pm 26/8. Total up, students under KPM going to Beijing --> 83 students.

10/10/2013 - I'm going here! Beijing Foreign Studies University. InsyaAllah. May Allah ease everything. 40 students under KPM and 19 students(that's what I heard) under MARA for this year's batch in this uni. BFSU a.k.a Beiwai. :) (gambar from google)

Another boy got into the family. Was born when I was still at BTN. Nur Zara Qairina finally got a sibling, Muhammad Rifqy Haziq. 

 And here is Zara concentrating. Concentrating in what?? Watching Upin Ipin... hehhe

K that's it. Nothing much happened except for the BTN and my new nephew..
